We're talking possibly weeks or MONTHS without anything new released (or even announced), since all of their effort would HAVE to go towards changing the combat system. Problem is: this will push back work on a lot of necessary functions, and everything else that's affected by the combat system will have to be reworked as well. Regardless, though, there are two things that can complicate matters at this point in the game's life:ġ) In order for this system to work, AE would have to change how combat ITSELF works to keep this from being gimmicky. But AQ3D isn't developed that way, prefering to use the standard MMO style, so it wouldn't really serve much purpose in the long run, outside of being a gimmick that relies on manual aiming in a game where auto-target does all the aiming for you while you spam flaming nukes. Dragon Nest and Everquest (since the latter was originally made to be played in first-person)), then it would actually be a nice change of pace from all the other MMOs we've been getting these years. If the combat was developed in such a way where the direction your camera was facing actually mattered (ex. Especially if an MMORPG uses an automatic targeting system that only requires you to have the target selected, and causes your attacks to go towards it automatically. Eh, it's an okay idea, but unless an RPG is made WITH first-person view in mind (or uses VR), it's usually little more than a fancy gimmick that you can use to mess around.
